As a parent/carer you can make an enormous difference to the life and work of West Mains School. Working in partnership with West Mains you can help everyone to become Confident Individuals, Responsible Citizens, Effective Contributors and Successful Learners.
We at West Mains would like to give you the opportunity to support us by becoming a parent volunteer. We value your commitment to share your time and talents in whatever way you can. We can be flexible in how we can support you to work alongside us. You could commit to an hour every week or to once a month/term/year.
You can support West Mains to enhance learning experiences in many ways. You could help by playing a maths or literacy game with a small group. You could help to prepare resources: cutting out or laminating, or ensuring resources in the resource room are shelved accessibly. There may even be scope for a parent volunteer to help prepare resources from home. There are many ways to support us and our pupils. We aim to be as flexible as necessary to enable you to volunteer if you would like.
We would encourage parent volunteers to support groups in classes other than the one for their own child. Parent Volunteers will not be expected to work on their own with children, but would work alongside the class teacher or School Support Assistants. Parent volunteers will need to go through the PVG process to ensure we are safe guarding all children in West Mains School.
If you are interested in becoming a parent volunteer or have any questions, please contact Mrs Shaw, by phone, Home-School Diary or email and we can begin your journey.
